Hollywood, CA -- Hollywood reset its "Number of Days Since Last Bizarre Meltdown" Counter after Selena Gomez posted - and quickly deleted - a performative video of herself crying uncontrollably about enforcement of the nation's long-standing immigration laws.
The billionaire singer and actress could be heard between sobs talking about 'her people' being returned to their native lands. Most media watchers were shocked to learn that she considered herself one of the murderers, rapists, and other violent criminals being sent home in this first wave of deportations.
The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) has maintained the "Number of Days Since Last Bizarre Meltdown" counter since 1998.
The SAG Spokescreature, James Crow, talked about the counter after it was reset to zero again today. He said, "It is really an attempt to keep celebrities from damaging their image and those of their friends. Nearly all of them have severe mental issues, it's really sad. Our hope is this helps them to focus - at least a little. The jury is out whether it works or not. Looking back, we could have saved some money and only purchased one set of numbers. In 25 years, the counter hasn't gone into double digits yet."
