People's Blog • Scratch 'n Sniff Stamps

With all the trouble that The People's Republic of France has brought upon itself endured over the past few leftist administrations years, one would think it would get its priorities in order.

But no, France's government has higher and nobler ideals to pursue, like "sex-proof" cardboard beds for the Olympic dormitories (to prevent world-class athlete orgies) and scratch and sniff postage stamps.

The new scratch and sniff "Baguette" stamp celebrates the French bread that smells good and turns rock hard soon after you take it home (much like most French first dates).

While the "sex-proof" beds are all-around moronic, scratch and sniff stamps is a concept that may actually catch fire. Although the first such stamp—issued in 1793—failed miserably and is practically forgotten.

Marie Antoinette's 1793 "Let Them Eat Cake" stamp was the first scratch and sniff. It smelled like cake but The French Revolution lopped the head off the innovation before it could catch on.

Hopefully, the USSA Postal Commissariat won't try this gimmick: the results could be disastrous:
